System is charged aand fine and normally blows ice cold. My was doing g exactly this or not cooling as it should be. There is another post jist recently posted about AC intermittently blowing hot and cold. I'm aware that wouldn't stop them from charging me for it though. I don't think they'd have to recharge the system, but that's just based on how awesome it worked for the minute and a half that it worked perfectly as I was driving off. So I assume they done their own bypass to check what the problem was and found that the ac is charged fine, and all the other parts are working, it's just that this sensor is kicking the compressor back off. I read up on a couple things about how to bypass the sensor with a such and such ohm resistor but I'd rather not do that if I can fix it myself.Īnyway, when I picked it up from the dealer, the air was ice cold like normal, but kicked back off before I got off the lot. When the dealer told me the problem and how much it costs I told them not to fix it. I drove it to the airport with it working and a week later when I got back in to go home, it wasn't. I got it yesterday and got behind the glove box and unplugged the old sensor and plugged in the new one.I just let the new sensor sit behind the glove box and did not secure it while I was testing it.I put the glove box back in and took the truck for a test drive.Success! No More AC cutting out when I step on the accelerator! Now I just need to get the Recirculate door working again. The compressor just never kicks on. ACDelco 15-50503 GM Original Equipment Air Conditioning Refrigerant Temperature Sensor. I want to update this post and share what I have found while trying to deal with this issue. After studying n9cvs fix for the evap temp sensor, Chevy Colorado A/C Evap Sensor Mod ? I started looking at the part #s and availability of the temp sensor.Looking at the photo on Amazon,I realized the wires going into the evaporator case were just a loop with the tiny temp temp sensor at the end.The wires do not plug into anything, they just go into the evaporator case and the temp sensor sits next to the evaporator.I realized I could just get a new temp sensor and unplug the 3 wire connector from the old sensor and plug it into the new sensor and not worry about the loop with the tiny sensor at the end.So that what I did.I ordered a new sensor from Amazon.
